As you prepare for the Holidays, make sure that your clients announcements are ready!

Prism Announcement Recording

As of the March 2005 release of Prism, custom announcements can be recorded through the telephone network.

Activating Announcement Recording:

  • In the Prism ‘Edit Account’ screen, set the ‘User Record Tone’ field to a valid touch tone (0 – 9, # or *). Do not use the same touch tone programmed into ‘Transfer Tone’ or callers will not be able to abort the announcement.
  • In Microscan or SDM, program the account to play an announcement.
  • Place a call to the account.
  • Place a call to the account.
  • Place a call to the account.
  • Place a call to the account.
  • Place a call to the account.
  • Place a call to the account.

Below are two recommended ways to use this new attribute.
Define a field that will hold all ten digits, such as the following:
[       ]

Alternatively, define two fields in such a way that the date and the serial number are separated, such as the following:
[   -   ]

The first field is six characters long, the second, following the dash, is four characters long. NOTE: If this latter approach is used, be sure to designate both fields as Message ID fields; otherwise an operator will be able to modify the data in the field following the dash.

Also note, that in lieu of running an off-line program to initialize the serial number for each account, the first time this feature is used for an account, numbering will begin with 0033. The number will increment with each use to 4095 and then cycle back to 0000, 0001, etc., to 4095.
